Shipping online orders

Please check our hours for exceptions to our regular shipping schedule.

How it works

1. Place an online order and and select Ship as your Delivery method.
2. If you order before 4PM on Friday your plants should ship early the following week (see below for exceptions)
3. We will box up your plants
4. We will create an address label for your box and you will receive a notification with tracking info.
5. Your box will be picked up by UPS.
6. You will receive your box at your address
7. Hopefully the fun part starts.

Holidays

If the week contains a holiday, we'll check UPS to make sure there is at least a one day buffer in shipping. If there is not, you'll receive your plants the next available full week. If the Holiday is in the middle of week(July 4) , we may skip the week. We try to get the plants to you as soon as possible, but sitting in the sun in Tuscon or snow in Denver is not something our plants need to experience.

Where do we ship mail order?

We only ship to Arizona, California, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington. We have had a difficult time shipping to the mid-west or more eastern because the plants get mangled and baked.

How is the shipping calculated?

Our shipping and handling is combined and displayed as just "Shipping". Each online order that is shipped has a handling charge of $5. This charge is for gathering, bagging and boxing plants. Shipping is based on an estimate from the carrier using the estimated weight and your location. Our plants weigh between 1.75 and 2.5 pounds each. Therefore a box of 10 plants might weigh between 17.5 and 25 pounds. These deviations depend on the season and the plant among other things. We have been using an average for the season which has been pretty accurate.

When do you ship

We ship Tuesdays and sometimes Wednesdays, to prevent any delays that could possibly happen that might keep your plants in shipping over the weekend. We send a tracking number to your email address at shipment. Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento and most all of California ship UPS ground and arrive the next day. So if you're in Los Angeles, if you order by Friday at 4pm, you should get the plants by Wednesday, barring any UPS delays.

How do we ship?

We ship via United Parcel Service. The gallon sized plants are removed from the pot, the root ball bagged, the bagged plants are packed in a box, and shipped. We do not ship bare root.

What sizes do you ship?

We only ship one gallon sized plants.
