Baja California Birdbush grows only in one spot in California, San Ysidro - north end of Tijuana Hills. Ornithostaphylos is very slow growing, it takes a couple of years for us to make a 6 inch high gallon plant. It seems to be hardy to an air temperature of at least 15, maybe 12F( about 10C) and seems to be very stable in the Santa Margarita nursery as long as we do not push it. We have it in the ground in part shade under and elderberry tree. This one is for collectors. 'Normal' people look at Xylococcus or Arctostaphylos.
