Gabb's Checkerspot is native from Central California down into Baja California. There are many forms of this butterfly, some range up into Canada and east to the Rockies.Host plants include; (Hazardia) Haplopappus squarrosus, Corethrogyne filaginifolia, Erigeron glaucus.
