Salvia Bee's Bliss Sage came out of the University of California Botanic Garden, discovered by Roger Raiche and named by Marcia Donehue. It makes a nice low, silver ground cover.
Bee's Bliss sage grows very fast to around 8 ft wide and stays under around 8 inches tall. Great for fast slope coverage or inexpensive ground cover.
This ground cover Salvia is fragrant, and nearly deer proof. It has a profusion of purple flowers in the late spring. Bee's bliss needs little to no water once established in most of California. Bee's bliss will grow in sand or clay but needs sun along the coast and can tolerate high or afternoon shade in hot interior climates. Under extreme drought and heat this sage will go dormant but usually it will pull through and bounce back as soon as the winter rains return.
