Sugar Pine,
Pinus lambertiana, will grow to 200 ft. but slowly
and narrow for first few years, but then Sugar Pine can become world's
tallest pine. It is native at middle elevations in California and
Oregon. Sugar Pine has the largest cones of any California pine., but
they are relativly light so you probably will not die. Best grown in its
communities, but tolerant of most of the populated areas of the west.
