Giant Helleborine or Stream Orchid, Epipactis gigantea, is a perennial orchid that grows in wet or moist places. Stream Orchid will go dormant at the first sign of drought. Grows all over the West from Texas to B.C. to South Dakota, always in distinct locations, not uniform distribution. The orchid flowers are pale yellow-brown to yellow with purple veins.
Excellent mixed with Lilium pardalinum, Mimulus cardinalis, Mimulus guttatus, and Pink California Fuchsia. Great under a bird bath or under that drippy faucet. Put a boulder under the faucet and plant all around it.
